What is SSL?

SSL is a cryptographic protocol that provides more secure communications and secure data transmission over the Internet. For the SSL protocol to work, you need to install an SSL certificate, after which the data will be transmitted via the HTTPS protocol. Over HTTPS information is transmitted in encrypted form. For data encryption cryptographic keys are used.

The installed SSL certificate contains information about the domain name, key owner, certificate validity period, certificate authority, and public key information.
